The Alan Hannah Collection

It's been a while since I've done a dress post, so this is long overdue. Let me introduce the gorgeous Alan Hannah bridal series.

So there are three parts to the collection: Classic Beauty, High Society and English Romantics. So I'm going to showcase my favourite dresses from each. On top of that, the new Spring/Summer 2013 MiaMia collection (sister brand to Alan Hannah) has just been released, so I'll put my picks from that at the bottom too :)

The Classic Beauty collection is a re-invention of the staple bridal wear shapes, bringing them up-to-date with floral lace embellishment and crisp silk fabrics. Most of the dresses are subtle, with simple styling, but bringing together eye-catching detail that looks fabulous without being OTT. My favourites are Felicity, Betsey and Cassandra, but dresses like Appolonia, Cryso and Ellie are other stars of the collection.
Felicity
Betsey
Cassandra
High Society is the collection for girls who really want that collective intake of breath when they walk down the aisle; a dress that is unique and totally captivating. These dresses are bold and perfect for the fashion-conscious bride who wants to be one step ahead of the trends. Other gorgeous dresses from the collection include Sienna, Sorento, Nice and Capriz.
Savannah
Casablanca
Milano
Seville

Finally, the English Romantics collection is a middle ground between Classic Beauty and High Society. As the name suggests, the dresses are feminine and princessy, with delicate beading and floral details featuring prominently throughout the designs. This is my favourite of the three collections; the Anais dress is something I would wear for my own wedding! It was hard to choose favourites here, but other breathtaking designs are Eliza, Charity and Kimberly.
Anais
Astrid
Alexis
Scarlett

And finally the MiaMia collection! The gowns are vintage-bohemian in their inspiration, with high necklines and draping, ethereal silks. Beading and florals are again a popular choice for embellishment, but in a way that is more 'woodland nymph' than princess in style. I love the uniqueness of designs like Edelweiss and Cornflower, and the back of the Clematis dress is to die for! So pretty. These are definitely dresses that will be talked about and admired for years to come. I love them all!
Edelweiss
Clematis
Windflower
Mulberry and Briar

So I hope you enjoyed a look at one of my favourite designers. I might do another post like this soon. With 2013 approaching fast I can't wait to see all the new dresses for the changing seasons! :D

Let me know your favourites in the comments!

National Wedding Show 2013: Hot off the Catwalk

This post contains all, and I do mean ALL, of the dresses from the catwalk show at the National Wedding Show Birmingham 2013. This post is huge, and very image-heavy, so be warned and enjoy! :D

Catwalk Drama
dresses by Ian Stuart Bride

I love Ian Stuart's bridal designs. He really pushes the boundaries between high fashion and mainstream bridal wear. His current collection, Supernova, is a little more conservative than usual; as dramatic and filled with creative expertise as ever, but perhaps toned down from his previous designs to appeal to a wider range of brides-to-be. The small catwalk selection summarises the collection well, and I think certain designs like Cassiopeia and Florina will be big sellers for upcoming weddings.

First out is the shimmering Glitterati

Atlantis and Cassiopeia

Orient Express and Folies Bergere

The rather incredible, billowing Monsoon dress

Not quite sure what to make of the floral South Pacific.... its certainly an interesting use of florals

and finally, possibly my favourite of his collection; the rose-studded Florina

Country
dresses by Berketex Bride

Berketex Bride is quite possibly one of the largest suppliers of bridal wear in the country, so its only fitting for them to showcase some of their collections on the catwalk. Their theme was 'country', which they stuck to with whimsical, girly dresses, accessorised with flowers and picnic baskets. With such a massive selection of dresses from a variety of designers to choose from, there are so many beautiful dresses not shown on the catwalk, so I suggest you check out the website to see their range.

Kelly by Marc le Carr and Willow by Rosetta Nicolini

Sandra by Nicole Jackson and an unknown dress by Amy Hamilton

Cannes by Amy Hamilton. I particularly like the grecian-style train on this one.

Lorna by Sasha Perez. The back on this is absolutely gorgeous.

Luna by Tom Flowers was easily my favourite of the Berketex dresses. So princessy and gorgeous! (Also I love this girl's chunky fishtail plait. A very chic, effortlessly-eleganct bridal hairstyle!)

Traditional
dresses by Suzanne Neville at Margot Raybould

The dresses showcased come from the Diamond and Nostalgia collections by Suzanne Neville. The dresses are all paired with veils in honour of tradition, and portray modern takes on classic silhouettes and designs. In particular from this scene, I adore the Leading Lady and Hepburn dresses.

Paradise and Captivating

Gracie and Hepburn

Unknown dress and Beautiful

Leading Lady is a beautiful design, I especially like the cut-out back.

Gallery
mixed collection from Lisa's Bridalwear and The Bridal Boutique

The gallery scene comprises artistic designs from Enzoani, Olivia and Grace, Mia Mia and Alan Hannah. The first four dresses were supplied by Lisa's Bridalwear (who were very helpful when I struggled to find the two Enzoani dresses online), and the last four were supplied by The Bridal Boutique.

Arabesque and Dream both by Olivia and Grace. Both beautiful dresses with very delicate lace details <3

Eldorado and Embessa both from Blue by Enzoani

Drew by Mia Mia and Xenia by Alan Hannah

Ellie and Kitty, both by Alan Hannah

Ellie and Kitty again, accompanied by childrens wear by Debenhams and Moss.

The Bridal Party
dresses by Enzoani at Margot Raybould

More from Enzoani now. These dresses are full-skirted, girly and princessy designs that are simply beautiful. Not much I can say really, just very pretty dresses!

Fatima

Olga and Ona

Ghislaine and Ginger

Flirty and girly Danbury

Emporia and Dabra

Destination
mixed collection from The Dressing Rooms, House of Fraser and Courtyard Bridal

This is the only catwalk scene that included some occassionwear for guests or bridesmaids, and I really love the selection from House of Fraser (excluding that HIDEOUS peplum dress!). The Mooshki dresses from The Dressing Rooms are really cute too, and its a brand I've never heard of before so an exciting one to see on the catwalk.

Menswear by Moss, Grace by Mooshki @ The Dressing Rooms

Metallic one-shoulder dress and Lace Shift by Untold @ House of Fraser

Printed Peplum dress and pretty Sleeved lace dress by Untold @ House of Fraser

Sarah by Mooshki @ The Dressing Rooms and Beaufort by Chanticleer @ Courtyard Bridal

Solace by Chanticleer at Courtyard Bridal and back views of both dresses

 Stop the Press
 dresses by Ivory and Co.

Ivory and Co are well known as specialists in all things sparkly, the company launched its Bridalwear collection in Autumn 2012 and are already established as creators of beautiful dresses with delicate details, perfectly poised to match their signature tiaras and accessories. Their spring collection is pretty and feminine, taking popular shapes and adding their own touch of sparkle to create something beautifully unique. I love the dainty Veronique dress, as well as the simple-yet-stunning Parisienne.

 Pretty Veronique and sophisticated Raphaella

1920's inspired Isis, with a unique cowl back

Parisienne is a simple yet gorgeous dress with a flattering crossover waist design

 Ophelia dress with matching bolero

and finally the beautiful Anais dress

 Dark Romance

The finale to the catwalk show is dark and dramatic, filled with gothic influence and artistic styling filling the catwalk with a contrast to the previously girly spring collections.

Oleda by Enzoani. Menswear by Peter Posh, kidswear by Debenhams.

I absolutely love this exquisitely embellished Gabriella dress by Timeless Couture.

Dramatic Oriel and Dakota, both by Enzoani

Willow by Timeless Couture is my favourite dress of the day. I just love the whole design and styling, and could see myself getting married in something similar!!

Ali by Augusta Jones and an unknown dress both from Georgina Scott Bridal

The breathtaking finale; Loren by Stephanie Allen. (The hat is ridiculous, but the dress is pretty!)

And there you have it! Every dress from the catwalk show at the National Wedding Show 2013! Congratulations on sticking through til the end!! This post has been such hard work, but hopefully worth it!
